Faculty Information & Speaker Ready Room

The online upload facility is now offline.

If you have uploaded in advance, you will be able to review/amend your presentation in the Speaker Ready Room. The technicians will have checked your uploaded presentation(s) including any hyperlinks, images and videos you have included. 

Upload of presentations is available in the Speaker Ready Room at least 3 hours before your session is due to begin or the day before if the session commences at 08:30. Please note: it is vital you visit the speaker ready room as early as possible if you are including video files. Presentations received after the below deadlines will not be guaranteed audiovisual support.

For sessions starting at;

08:30 - submit your presentation by 17:00 the day before

10:45 - submit your presentation by 17:00 the day before

13:30 - submit your presentation by 10:30 that day

15:45- submit your presentation by 12:45 that day


If you are speaking on Sunday 2nd October in either Patients Day or the HRUK Certificate of Accreditation: Core session, please visit the Speaker Ready Room on the morning of Sunday 2nd October.

  • Patients Day faculty should aim to arrive no later than 08:30 to ensure their presentations are formatted by the technicians before the sessions begin at 10:00.

  • HRUK Certificate of Accreditation: Core faculty should aim to arrive by 10:30 in order for their presentations to be formatted by the technicians in preparation for the session at 13:00.

The Speaker Ready Room is located in the Sussex Room, which is highlighted in red in the below map.


Peak hours for the Speaker Ready Room are the coffee and lunch breaks therefore to ensure you have sufficient time with the technicians, we recommend you visit the Speaker Ready Room either early morning or during the sessions.

Speaker Ready Room Opening Hours:

Sunday 2nd October

 08:30 – 18:00

Monday 3rd October

 07:30 – 18:00

Tuesday 4th October

 07:30 – 18:00

Wednesday 5th October

 07:30 – 13:00

The computers in the Speaker Ready Room are EXACTLY alike to the computers in the session rooms.  If your presentation looks good in the Speaker Ready Room, then it will look good in the session. Technicians will be in the Speaker Ready Room all day to help you plus there will also be technicians available throughout the presentation rooms to troubleshoot problems.  

Please feel free to work on your presentation in the Speaker Ready Room during HRC 2011.

Restrictions: You may not use your personal laptop to deliver your presentation, nor can you directly load your presentation onto the computer in the session room.

You will control your presentation on the computer provided in the session room.  There will be a radio mouse for you to use as well as a microphone and laser pointer. Also there will be a roving handheld microphone available in each room.

Technical Information

PowerPoint is the required format.  Your PowerPoint presentation must be compatible with Microsoft Office 2003, 2007 or 2010.  The computers provided in each session will be running Microsoft Office 2010. Presentations should be in 4:3 format (e.g. resolution 0124 x 768).

If submitting your presentation(s) to the Speaker Ready Room, please present it to the technician on either CD-ROM or USB Flash Disk (PC formatted - not MAC). Make sure any audio or video files are saved with the presentations. Videos should be no more than 200mb per file and be in a recognised format (e.g. quicktime, .mov, mpeg4, H.264). This will help to ensure they play correctly during the presentations.
